Elinor at 3 months

April 6th, 2009

Elinor is 1/4 of a year old!  Here are a few pictures of the last couple of weeks.  Elinor has changed so much.  She is reaching and grabbing at toys (her very favorite toy is a bee).  She loves facing forward now, so she can see the world and all those exciting things going on in it.  She continues to love to talk and sing, especially when Miney and Jake sing The Ants Go Marching One by One to her.  Recently, she started blowing raspberries.  She met her Aunt Jennifer last weekend (they hit it off, of course!).  We leave for Texas on April 16.  We’ll be visiting Grandpa and Grandma Stoll in Dallas for a long weekend, and then Burke will fly back while my parents & I see family and friends in Austin, Lufkin, Carthage, and Longview.  We will post a whole bunch of pictures when we return!

Elinor at 10 Weeks

Here’s another video of Elinor we took yesterday while she was playing on her mat–hope you enjoy!  Elinor has found her hands and spends many minutes each day staring intently at them (and making herself cross-eyed!).  Elinor is sleeping from 5-7 hours at a stretch almost every night, which is great!  Hope you all have a great weekend.  We plan to take Elinor to the Portland Farmer’s Market opening day tomorrow–she will be spending a lot of time there this spring, summer, and fall!  We’ll take pictures!

Merry Christmas from Burke, Julia, and Jubu!

December 25th, 2008

We had a lovely Christmas and hope that you all did too!  We loved receiving all of the wonderful Christmas cards, letters, and photos which we have up on our mantel now.  We didn’t get around to sending cards this year but wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas and an amazing 2009!

Here is a link to a photo gallery I created with some of the year’s highlights.  We packed a lot into the year, especially Burke with his successful summits of Mt. Hood, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainier!

Back from our backpack!

Out tent with Mt. Hood in the background

What gorgeous weather we had for our backpacking trip this weekend!  It got a little bit cloudy on Saturday evening but by dinnertime, Mt. Hood revealed itself and changed beautiful colors with the sunset.  The stars were amazing.  When it started getting a little chilly, we played some cribbage in the tent before hitting the sack.  It was really, really windy all night but by morning, the winds had calmed and it was yet another beautiful day.  We are back safely!  We’re still pondering whether we’ll be able to do a couple of trips planned for later in the month.  Although I felt really great hiking (especially with Burke carrying all the weight!), sleeping on the ground was pretty uncomfortable in this pregnant state.

JuBu gets her groove…

We found out on Tuesday (8/26) that we’re having a girl! How awesome is that?
