Week 22 1/2 belly shot
My friend Laurie loaned me this cute maternity dress, and boy, does it make me look pregnant! I’ve been so thankful to have friends who have loaned me clothes they no longer need, or clothes they won’t need back for awhile. Sarah, Laurie, Marta, and even my sister Jennifer’s friend Heidi in Denver have passed wonderful maternity clothes along. Wow, what a wonderful community of friends we have!

What gorgeous weather we had for our backpacking trip this weekend! It got a little bit cloudy on Saturday evening but by dinnertime, Mt. Hood revealed itself and changed beautiful colors with the sunset. The stars were amazing. When it started getting a little chilly, we played some cribbage in the tent before hitting the sack. It was really, really windy all night but by morning, the winds had calmed and it was yet another beautiful day. We are back safely! We’re still pondering whether we’ll be able to do a couple of trips planned for later in the month. Although I felt really great hiking (especially with Burke carrying all the weight!), sleeping on the ground was pretty uncomfortable in this pregnant state.

It’s almost week 22 so we’re a bit late posting this! We had a good MD visit this week. I’m gaining weight a little too fast so need to slow it down a bit. My overall weight gain is fine but I can’t continue at this rate.
We are off to backpack at McNeil Point on Mt. Hood this weekend. Burke gets to carry everything! I’m looking forward to it!

Our wedding was recently featured on a beautiful wedding blog called Snippet & Ink thanks to Chelsea, the gal who helped us with the flowers & decorations. How fun to see our wedding on the Internet, and so close to our anniversary! Our wedding day was such a wonderful day!

I was out walking with a friend the other day, and we happened across a neighborhood yard sale with the perfect, simple white crib in great condition. Such a nice family with cute children so I feel good about the crib. I got home and researched the crib company (Pali, an Italian company) and it is a great company. Yay, another thing crossed off the list!

I am having fun starting to think about the nursery decorations. Burke gave me the most beautiful birthday card that had some wonderful colors on it, and then my sister sent us a print for the baby’s room with the same colors. So, we’ve decided to use these colors in the baby’s room. They would’ve worked for a boy OR a girl. And since I don’t want to over-pink the room or the baby, I think they will be perfect.
Here is a copy of the print Jennifer sent. The artist is Matte Stephens, who recently moved to Portland from Birmingham, AL (sound familiar?). I love this print! Thanks, Aunt Jennifer!
We like the blue-green colors (dark & light shades) with the orange as an accent. We will use somewhat of a bird theme in the nursery, but mainly in the artwork so we don’t overdo it. I also have an owl lamp that was in my room when I was little that we will use.
It will be fun over the next few months to get the room ready! We are looking for a white crib (used is preferable) so keep your eyes open! We’re watching Craigslist closely!
